Quartz PowderQuartz Powder is the most common of all minerals that is composed of silicon dioxide. This is an essential component of igneous as well as metamorphic rocks. The size of this mineral varies from specimens weighing a metric ton to miniature subdivisions, which sparkle in rock shells. The luster in some samplings is vitreous and is greasy or glossy. In its pure form, this powder is colorless, but it is usually colored by impurities. The Quartz Powder exhibits a property known as the piezoelectric effect. It is produced by an electric voltage when pressed along certain directions of the crystal.
